But, It's My Money, Right?

Well, that depends on who you ask. Apparently, today there is a real conflict over who's money it is anyway. Those who work hard to earn it believe it's theirs, and those who legislate believe it's theirs. Once you've made a few bucks, I can guarantee those who want to take it away from you are not far away. Some of them even have web sites detailing how you can send them your money.

U.S. Department of the Treasury
Internal Revenue Service
Federal Trade Commission

Government agents surf thousands of Web sites to ensure they are complying new laws designed to put an undue burden on smaller unprotected non-corporate entities. It seems pretty evident that the laws being passed will tend to drive small Internet companies out of business by imposing on them a huge financial burden of compliance with unconstitutional federal laws.

The government's eventual collection of its share of Internet commerce-generated revenues is inevitable, members of a congressional Internet tax study panel said in June, 1999. Opening statements from 17 of the 19 present members of the Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce showed that a majority believe the Internet cannot remain effectively tax-free forever. The truth is, IT IS YOUR MONEY! and it's being stolen from you every day.
